The Infinix Hot 50 is hands down one of the best-looking devices I have seen this year, second only to the Infinix Hot 50 Pro Plus 4G. It is a slim phone with AI features, and the MediaTek Helio G100 powers it.
The Infinix Hot 50 is a budget option between the Hot 50i and Pro Plus 4G. It offers good performance.
In this review, I will break down every aspect of the phone and tell you about it.

Infinix Hot 50 Unboxing & Price
You will find the Hot 50, an earpiece, a USB A to C cable, a 33-watt charging brick, and a silicone TPU case inside the box.
The model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage costs around 240,000. The RAM type is LPDDR4X, and the storage type is UFS 2.2. The base model comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, but I don’t know the official price.
Design & Build Quality Of the Hot 50 Device
The phone has a slim profile and a matte texture that makes it comfortable to hold. The back and frame are plastic, but the finish hides stains. I have the Titanium gray color option, but other colors are available.
It weighs less than 200 grams, and even though the display is quite large, I find it easy to use the phone with one hand. The curved edges also allow it to rest well in my palms without dent.
There are three cameras at the back of the phone, and Infinix calls this camera arrangement the wow cube. I kind of like it.
The flashlight is just beside the WOW cube. The phone has a reliable side-mounted fingerprint scanner for unlocking it.
The phone also has a single down-firing speaker, which is surprising because we have stereo speakers on the Hot 50i. You also get a headphone port, which can be an excellent addition for most people.
It supports dual 4G SIM cards and has a dedicated slot for memory expansion. The phone is splash—and dust-resistant but not completely waterproof.
I love how sleek the phone looks and feels in the hand. The build quality is impressive. In my opinion, it is one of the best-designed phones of 2024.
Infinix Hot 50 Display Review
We have a 6.78-inch IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. In the settings, you can select between 60, 90, and 120Hz or even keep it at auto refresh. It also has the always-on display feature, and you can tap to wake or raise the display.
The refresh rate makes scrolling smooth, and the display provides good visuals while watching content or playing games.
It can reach 800 nits outdoors, and the display is quite visible, especially when the brightness is maxed out.
It is a flat display, and the bezels around it are noticeable. The water drop cutout doesn’t interfere when you’re using the display, and with dynamic bar 2.0, you get some added functionality on the cutout.
The display feels okay for the price, and the refresh rate is 120Hz all the way through, unlike the Hot 50i, which goes down to 90Hz depending on what you are doing on the phone. It also works well even with a water splash on the display.
AI Features – Infinix Hot 50 Review
Infinix gave us some AI features here. The addition of the AI image wallpaper generation improves the AI wallpaper generator.
You can use it to have fun creating wallpapers for your phone.
You also have the AI eraser, which you can use to remove an object or person from an image, and AI cutouts, which you can use to remove an image background and turn it into a meme or something.
You also get the AI text summarizer, which you can use to generate text or query sentences. Its best use case for me is summarizing web pages to get an idea of what they are and decide if they’re worth reading. There is also AI voice capture that works with the camera app.
You can say cheese, shoot, or capture, and it will snap you automatically. This can be helpful when taking selfies, especially when your hands can’t reach the capture button.
Folax, the voice assistant, is powered by chatGPT and can answer voice queries with context. The Infinix Hot 50 is one of the cheapest phones with AI features.
Infinix Hot 50 Review Performance Aspect
The Hot 50 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100, a new, very powerful chipset. This is one of the features that makes the Hot 50 worth the price. I played Call of Duty Mobile at medium graphics settings and a high frame rate, and it was quite smooth.
There weren’t any hiccups, even after playing for a while. I am sure the phone can handle Call of Duty Warzone, considering my variant has up to 8GB RAM.
Performance is very okay, and I can’t complain about the price. Scrolling is smooth, and apps open up quite quickly on the phone. During my testing, I didn’t experience any slow performance.
Infinix also claims the phone will perform smoothly even after five years, thanks to the TUV certification.
They simulated five years of using the phone, which still holds up quite well. This will help ensure its overall longevity.
Software Experience
The Infinix Hot 50 runs Android 14, and the user interface is XOS 14. Infinix has made great progress with its software, and I am impressed.
You get floating windows and a split screen with compatible apps, and you can customize the phone as much as you want.
Thanks to Material You, I changed my icons to match the wallpaper. In the settings, you can also increase the RAM using memory fusion. It can go from 8GB RAM to 16 GB.
There is a smart panel on the side. When you swipe from the side, you can use it to quickly access apps on the phone. I am sure there will be one year of Android updates, which means you will be getting Android 15 on the phone.
Infinix Hot 50 Camera
We have a 50 MP main camera at the back with two additional lenses. We have an 8MP camera for selfies, and I was impressed with the camera.
Using the 50MP lens, you get sharp images. Even when you zoom in on the picture, you get some details. Even at 2x zoom, the detail is impressive.
The portrait mode is impressive, and the background blur is evident in the pictures. You can capture HDR photos with both the 50MP lens and standard mode; the contrast when you take photos is good. The main 50MP lens gives you the best pictures, but the files can be heavy.
Super night mode pictures look good, and that’s the mode to use in low light.
The selfies are quite good in a well-lit environment, but they require a lot of software processing and can be hit or miss. The front and back cameras can shoot 2 K at 30fps.
Battery Life & Charging Test
The Hot has a 5000mAh battery, and I was impressed with how long it lasted. Not to mention that with the 5000mAh battery size, the smartphone still maintains a good weight. I played games for an hour and didn’t lose more than 8% of the battery.
In A situation where electricity isn’t Good, the Infinix Hot 50 has made it way to the market to give you the consumer’s assurance on battery durability.
It supports 33-watt charging and takes around an hour to charge from zero to a hundred.
There is also bypass charging, which sends power directly to the phone’s system rather than the battery; this can be helpful when gaming on the device. The battery is impressive and is one of the phone’s best features.
